"seeing someone cry or really any emotions, I would simply take them on board." this is me! i've never felt that being labeled "sensitive" has been negative though. i have always considered myself fortunate to be able to fully experience my emotions. especially since i've seen how holding them back or keeping them in can be so detrimental at times.

Yes! I am an empath to the extreme. It was challenging in my teens and 20s when I didn't understand it. These days, it can still be a challenge, but I've learned about boundaries and channeling my gifts properly. 🙂

When you describe the experience of being an empath, or being an intuitive of any kind, it made me think that the special gifts of such people were extraordinary. Yes, they are special gifts, but what I used to think was that these were people who had some sort of magical power that the rest of us didn't have access to, and that they had very concrete flashes that allowed them to know something without a doubt.

It almost seems strange -strangely reassuring – to think of how all of us who were cry-babies and extra-sensitive to our environments were simply tuning into more than meets the eye. As I get to know my own intuitive nature more deeply, I'm always happy to hear the experience of others, and how this is all perfectly normal, for those with such gifts.

It also makes me curious and excited to see what special gifts we discover among the millenials who are all being labelled with attention disorders and learning disabilities. In the Percy Jackson series of novels, having dyslexia is a sign that you're the child of a Greek god and I have no trouble believing that these children have something to teach us about the next phases of the new paradigm. (I'll stop here…I'm babbling.)
