A Soul Medicine Exploration for Healers on the Path of Liberation.

A Note Before We Begin

This is a vulnerable reflection, based on my lived experience as a healer, space holder and soul walker. The title “Is Healing Making Me Fat?” is designed to capture attention – not to shame, stigmatise or oversimplify the profound journey of weight, healing and embodiment.  I offer this exploration from a place of love, honesty and curiosity.  If you have ever carried extra weight alongside your sacred work, you are not alone.

This is not a prescription or judgment. It is an open-hearted convseration.

Now let’s begin.

The Weight We Carry

If you’re a healer – a space holder, a light bearer, a compassionate soul – and you carry extra weight on your body, you may sometimes wonder: “Is this weight part of my sacred work? Will I still be as good – as powerful – a healer if I release it?”

This is a question that deserves reverence, not rush. Because when it comes to our bodies, especially as healers, nothing is random.

For many healers, the body becomes not just a home for the soul, but a container for the nergies we hold. We don’t just witness pain – we absorb it. We don’t jus toffer compassion – we embody it.

Carrying extra weight can sometimes be the body’s way of

  • Anchoring us to earth when the energies around us swirl wildly.
  • Protecting our sensitive hearts from being pierced too deeply too often.
  • Creating a “padded sanctuary”where others’ grief, anger and sadness can land safely without overwhelming us.
  • Expanding our energy field – giving us more mass to hold more space.

In this way, weight has been a form of soul medicine. A living, breathing testament to the sacred work you do.

It is not weakness.

It is not failure.

It is not brokenness.

It is love – expressed through flesh.

When the Body Whispers: “You Can Let Go Now”

At some point, the body – wise as every – may whisper:

“You no longer need to hold so much for others. You are strong enough now to hold space without carrying it in your tissues. It’s safe to be lighter. It’s safe to be freer.”

This is not betrayal of your sacred work. This is an evolution of it.

If and when you release the extra weight, you not abandoning your strength. You are letting it root even deeper into your soul, rather than relying on the body alone to carry it.

You do not lose your depth. You do not lose your tenderness. You gain clearer boundaries. You gain greater sovereignty. You gain the ability to let energy move through you instead of lodging inside you.

Your medicine becomes even more crystalline, pure, radiant.

The Vibrational Shift: From Mass to Light

When weight is released consciously, with gratitude for what it held and without guilt, shame or the need to conform to external standards, something profound happens:

Your vibration rises into higher frequencies and expands into wider, freer expresssions of your light.

You are no longer anchored by density; you become a clearer, more radiant channel of healing energy, able to hold more without carrying more.

You shift from:

  • Clearing through mass (dense, physical)
  • To clearing through lifht (fluid, expansive)

And in that shift, something miraculous happens: You become buoyant – light not just physcially, but energetically. More magnetic. More sovereign. More compassionate without being consumed.

A Personal Reflection

For many years, after holding space for groups or individual session, my body would ache intensely. There was a familiar, heavy pain after each sacred encounter – as if my muscles, bones and cells were processing not only my own energy, but the energy of those I was helping. It felt like a sacred cost of the work. A quiet agreement: “I will hold it for you, even if it hurts me.”

But now as I walk a new journey of conscious weight release, something unexpected is happening; The pain is easing. The recovery time is faster. The energies pass through me with more flow and less residue.

It’s not just anecdotal – it’s embodied: It feels easier to hold space when my body is lighter.

The work is not weaker. It is purer, clearer, more vibrationally potent.

It’s a new sacred contract: “I will witness and hold space, but I will not injure myself in the process.”

This TIme Is Different

If you are exploring weight release again – and it feels different this time – honour that. You are not trying to fix yourself. You are not trying to punish yourself. You are answering a soul call for liberation.

This is not about shrinking. It’s about expanding into the full radiance of your being.

You are becoming less. You are becoming more true.

A Soulful Reframe for the Journey

“I am not losing weight. I am releasing density. I am shedding contracts that no longer serve. I am trusting my soul’s light to hold the space I once asked my body to carry.”

“I am becoming buoyant in my healing. I am becoming sovereign in my energy. I am becoming free in my body.”

A Soul Blessing for the Journey

Dear Body,

Thank you for evvery ounce of protection, grounding and love you have offered me. Thank you for helping me hold space when I didn’t know how to yet.

I honour the weight I have carried – both seen and unseen. And now, if it is time, I welcome a new way of holding:

Light. Free. Rooted. Sovereign.

I trust my healing gifts are infinite – not because of what I carry, but because of who I am.

Amen, Aho. And so it is.

Final Reflection

You are not defined by the body you wear. You are defined by the soul you shine.

Whether you walk this path heavier, lgither or somewhere in between – your medicine is eternal, sacred and deeply needed.

You are not shrinking. You are rising.

You are not conforming. You are liberating.

You are not giving away your power. You are claiming more fully than ever before.

Keep walking. Keep healing. Keep trusting.

Your body – like your soul – knows the way.
