I’ve been sitting with an ache lately, a quiet, persistent hum beneath the surface of my days. It’s not sadness, exactly. It’s something deeper. A restlessness that whispers, there’s more.
Some nights, it keeps me awake, that feeling that I’m supposed to be doing something, creating something, making a difference in the world. And yet, at the same time, I can’t quite grasp what that something is.
Everything feels too much effort and not enough at once. It’s as if nothing quite fits anymore.
And I’ve come to realise that’s not wrong.
It’s actually part of the process.
🌬 The Ache of Becoming
This ache, the irritation, the disconnection, the exhaustion, is not a sign of failure. It’s the sign of becoming. When our soul begins to expand beyond the familiar, the mind and body can feel lost for a while. What once felt clear suddenly dissolves. What once inspired us no longer sparks the same joy.
We think something’s gone wrong, but what’s really happening is a sacred recalibration.
You’re not broken. You’re simply being rewoven.
When the light of certainty fades, it’s not that you’ve lost your path, it’s that your soul is creating a new one.
🌾 The Void Is Fertile
Real spiritual growth is rarely neat. It is often inconvenient, disorienting, and profoundly human.
The truth is, the void, that uncomfortable place where nothing feels right, is the womb of new creation.
In Egyptian cosmology, the Nun represents the dark, formless waters that existed before the world was born. Every new cycle begins in that same darkness, where all potential exists, but nothing has yet taken shape.
The void asks us to pause, not push.
To listen, not fix.
To rest, not prove.
Just as the soil must rest before it can nurture new growth, our soul needs these spaces of stillness to prepare for what’s next.
✨ From Seeker to Seer
When we first awaken, we often seek, we look outward for guidance, meaning, validation. But as we evolve, we begin to see differently. We start to recognise that the answers are not out there, but within us.
And in that moment of shift, from seeker to seer, everything can feel disorienting. Because the tools that once guided us stop working. The light that once illuminated our path goes dim.
But this is not the end of the journey.
It’s the sacred middle, the cocoon before the wings.
It’s where the soul whispers:
“Let go of what you were seeking, so you can see what you already are.”
🌕 Meeting the Void with Grace
If it supports you, create a small moment of light — a candle, a hand over your heart, a breath that reminds you that you are still here.
“I am here. Even in the void, I am alive. Even in the ache, I am becoming.”
Then I breathe.
I let the ache speak.
I listen to what it wants me to know, not with my mind, but with my body.
Sometimes it says, rest.
Sometimes it says, wait.
And sometimes, it just asks to be felt, no interpretation, no fixing.
💫 The Gift of the Ache
If you’re feeling lost, disconnected, or restless right now, please know this: You are not doing anything wrong. You’re just standing at the doorway of your next evolution.
The ache means your soul is alive.
The irritation means something within you is stretching toward the light. The void means that life is quietly reconfiguring itself around a new rhythm, one that will eventually feel like home again.
You don’t need to rush the process.
You don’t need to fill the silence.
You just need to remember that even in stillness, you are becoming.
🌹 A Gentle Reminder
You are not behind.
You are not lost.
You are being remade.
The void is not emptiness — it’s the sacred space where your next chapter is born.
Breathe.
Soften.
Let grace do the heavy lifting.
Even here, especially here, you are enough.
✨ Reflection Prompts
What sensations tell me I’m entering the void?
What might my soul be asking me to release?
How can I honour rest as a sacred act of trust?
What if this ache isn’t meant to be fixed, but listened to?
🌒 Closing Note
This reflection has been alive in me for months, quietly shaping itself into a deeper conversation that will soon find its home in my next book, Seeker to Seer. That chapter explores this space, the sacred void between doing and being, as the true threshold of awakening.
If you find yourself in that space now, please know: you’re not alone. You’re in sacred company, in the very heartbeat of transformation.
