Moving Outward
As an entrepreneur, I’ve come to see transformation differently. It’s not about climbing a ladder or scaling a mountain. Transformation is about expansion, moving outward in concentric circles of energy, one step at a time. It’s a shift from seeing growth as vertical climb to seeing it as a horiszontal flow – a continuous process of stepping into what’s already within reach.
This perspective is especially relevant for coaches, healers and creatives. Our work requires to hold space for others while maintaining our own energy. The traditional idea of “climbing higher” often leads to burnout or feelings of inadequancy. But when we embrace the idea of stepping outward instead of upward, we release unnecessary pressure and make transformation more sustainable and empowering.
I recently shared this perspective with one of my clients, a coach who felt overwhelmed by the constant push to “reach the next level”. I invited her to imagine standing at the center of a circle, with her goals just a few steps away – not above her, not in some distant place, but on the same plane. The steps to get there weren’t effort or struggle: they were about alignment and presence.
Transformation is Horizontal, Not Vertical
When we see transformation as horizontal, it changes everything. It’s not about striving to be someone you’re not or chasing a version of yourself that feels far away. It’s about growing your energy field to meet and hold the version of yourself that’s already here, waiting to be invited in.
Each step outward is a step into alignment, and alignment requires less effort than the struggle of climbing. It’s about allowing rather than forcing. As you expand, you don’t lose energy – you gain it. You stretch without breaking, grow without exhausting yourself, and hold space for what’s coming next.
Steps Across Require Less Energy
The version of you that you want to see – the one who holds space with ease, creates with confidence and serves with clarity – isn’t at the top of a ladder. She’s already here. Expanding into her doesn’t require you to do more or be more; it requires you to hold more what’s already within you.
This shift in perspective also shows us that transformation is interconnected. Your growth doesn’t happen in isolation. Every time you take a step outward, you create ripples. The energy you expand touches others, inviting them to expand as well. Transformation becomes a shared journey, not just an individual pursuit.
Maintaing Energy as You Expand
As you step outward, maintaing your energy is key. Expansion doesn’t mean overextending yourself. It means checking in regularly:
- Are you moving with intention, or are you chasing something that doesn’t resonate?
- Are you holding space for yourself as you hold space for others?
- Are you aligned with your values and vision, or are you trying to fit into someone else’s idea of success?
Transformation through expansion is about sustaining your energy, not depleting it. Each step should feel intentional and grounded, a reflection of who you are becoming without losing who you are.
You’re Already Enough
The beauty of this approach is that it removes the pressure of “get there”. Transformation isn’t about arriving at some distant destination. It’s about realising that everything you need is already here. Each step outward reinforces this truth: you are enough, and your energy is powerful. The more you align with this, the more natural and effortless your growth becomes.
The next time you feel stuck or overwhelmed, pause. Breathe. Look outward instead of up. The path forward isn’t a climb – it’s a step into what’s already yours.
